Asperger Syndrome is identified as a type of Autism. It generally relates to difficulty with interaction between people and communicating. Specifically with non verbal skills. Asperger Syndrome has been looked over by some as just a general clumsiness sometimes when it is really a disorder.
Asperger Syndrome also comes from Hans Asperger who first identified something in children that others had not. In 1944 he described certain children with normal intelligence but lacking in their nonverbal communication skill. These children also did not interact well with their peers and failed to show empathy, thus making them a target for criticism. Currently there is no real cure or treatment to fix this issue, but behavioral therapy is the best thing to help, and there is ongoing research into Asperger Syndrome to help people in their understanding of it as well.
More recently with Americas next Top Model, Heather Kuzmich has Asperger Syndrome and has given people a chance to see and understand it better.
