Virtual Dissection

01.09.08 | No Comments

Virtual Dissection is the thing that students are doing now days rather than the real thing. What am I talking about. Virtual dissection is basicly taking apart a frog or an animal that you would normally dissect in real life on a computer. Now I am thinking that you probably just don’t get the real feel of hands on with this type of thing. When I went to school dissecting an animal had a real effect on me. I do not believe that virtual dissection will help kids to really know if they want to get into that type of field with science or not since it is only a monitor that they are using.

Nonetheless, virtual dissection is taking a new era of kids into more digitalism. Do we really need more digital things helpping us, or do we need to learn how to really do things physically on our own so we know the real texture and feel and smell and touch of things? I think this is an interesting subject, and I hope that virtual dissection just helps rather than stunts minds of tomorrow.
